Responsibilities The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Rheumatology Research Center of Excellence is looking for a Physician Assistant or APRN to provide outpatient care to patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Some key responsibilities include:
- Provide patient care under a physician’s supervision, including reviewing medical records, performing physical exams, and documenting information in electronic health records
- Assist with or perform clinical procedures related to the treatment of these diseases
- Assess patients, plan their care, and implement treatment
- Participate in clinical research by supporting patient care before, during, and after studies, ensuring that study protocols are followed, and timelines are met
- Conduct clinical evaluations to assess disease activity for clinical trials and may help with obtaining informed consent
- Educate patients, study participants, and healthcare providers about illness, treatments, and study procedures
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with HIPAA regulations, and ensure safety protocols are followed
