Advance Practice provider Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled advance practice provider (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, with experience in outpatient settings. As an advance practice provider, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing and implementing treatment plans for patients with various psychiatric conditions. Your expertise in psychiatry will be essential in ensuring desirable patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history.
  • Provide acute care services to patients, including emergency interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and medication adherence.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using appropriate coding practices.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
  • Assist in ventilating patients when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing/Physician Assistant Studies or related field from an accredited program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant certification and state licensure.
  • Experience working in outpatient facilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICD-9 coding practices for accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care to diverse patient populations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $129,830.00 – $180,000.00 per year
