Full Job Description

Pulmonary and Critical Care Consultants, Inc, is seeking to hire experienced candidates for the position of Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider. This fast paced role will treat a multitude of patient populations in the Medical-Surgical, Heart & Vascular, and Neurosciences ICUs.

Qualified applicants include Advanced Practice Registered Nurses or Physician Assistants with appropriate training and experience.

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with physician and other clinicians in providing comprehensive care for critically ill patients; performs health assessment, histories, physical examinations, and written documentation

  • Provides follow-up and communicates treatment plan to other care team members.
  • Ensures the appropriate tests and treatments are ordered and completed in a timely manner.
  • Provides coordination of care and transitions patients appropriately out of the critical care setting.
  • Performs procedures associated with the management of critically ill patients including central venous catheterization, arterial catheterization, chest tube placement and management, intubation (procedural competency is not required to apply), code blue management
  • Coordinates with medical trainees including medical students and residents in a collaborative teaching ICU environment

Nature and Scope Knowledge of the professional medical practice to give and evaluate patient care. Must be confident in the subjective and apply and modify the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide ongoing patient care. Competent in taking medical history, assessing medical condition and interpreting findings. Ability to maintain quality assurance and quality control standards. Capable of reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Excellent communication skill with both patients and colleagues are essential.

Qualifications

  • Applicant must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Applicant must be a certified NP or PA (Current State of Ohio licensure is required and should be maintained at all times)
  • Applicant must have current Certificate to Prescribe
  • Applicant must maintain current BLS/ACLS certification
  • Past critical care experience is strongly preferred but not required; procedural experience is preferred but not required
  • A thorough understanding of HIPAA law is required and professional discretion must be demonstrated at all times.
  • Applicant must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with both patients and colleagues are essential. Must demonstrate empathy and compassion in a variety of clinical situations.
  • Job requires multitasking in a high intensity environment while maintaining a calm demeanor
  • Computer literacy is required and must include Excel, Word and Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records experience is an advantage, preferably EPIC.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $103,000.00 per year
