Career Details:
We are seeking a professional Physician Assistant to join our team of professionals in the Columbus area. As a Physician Assistant, you will provide a supervisory or collaborative practice with the Medical Director, the Psychiatric Physician Assistant (hereafter called PPA) provides to individuals and groups, psychiatric care that requires knowledge and skill obtained from advanced formal education and experience. These services shall include, but are not limited to, psychiatric evaluation/management and consultation services for those who may have mental health diagnoses, justice system involvement, substance use disorders or an intellectual or developmental disability (DD). The employee shall provide the services in accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS); the state of Ohio Medical Board; and the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health Services; and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (ODODD) requirements for psychiatric services rendered in Medicaid certified Supported Living facilities and Residential facilities by practitioners whose qualifications satisfy the CMS ODODD requirements for such practitioners. Practitioners with experience in Veterans mental healthcare are especially sought. You will be part of a multidisciplinary staff in the Behavioral Health, Addiction, and IDD departments to ensure holistic best practice and treatment are provided
Education:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program or related fields.
- National Commission of Physician Assistants NCCPA Certification
- Physician Assistant Certificate to Practice – Ohio State Medical Board License
- DEA License
Preferred education includes a Certification of Added Qualification in Psychiatry
Experience:
2 years of experience in treating individuals with Mental Illness and Addiction Services
MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE.
Skills and Abilities:
Computer Skills: Proficient in all Microsoft office applications and skilled in operation of personal computer, peripheral equipment (e.g., copier, fax, printers).
