Full Job Description

Position OverviewJiva Med Spa is seeking a licensed Medical Director / Collaborating Physician to oversee the clinical operations of our growing medical spa across multiple Ohio locations. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance while collaborating closely with leadership and clinical staff.This is an excellent opportunity for a physician interested in aesthetic medicine, with a structured, part-time commitment and a strong emphasis on oversight, mentorship, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight for all clinical services and ensure safe, high-quality patient care
  • Develop, review, and approve clinical protocols, policies, procedures, consents, and patient documentation
  • Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nurses
  • Monitor clinical performance and support quality improvement initiatives
  • Review a minimum of 20% of patient charts quarterly
  • Assist in resolving clinical patient concerns and complaints
  • Ensure ethical standards of care are upheld across all services
  • Analyze patient outcomes to ensure consistency with expected standards
  • Support cost-containment initiatives while prioritizing patient outcomes

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Serve as the Responsible Physician for the organization’s TDDD license
  • Maintain oversight of all regulatory requirements, including inspections, documentation, and staff training
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines related to medical spa services
  • Oversee DEA compliance, including proper handling, storage, and documentation of controlled substances

In-Office RequirementsColumbus, OH:

  • Minimum of 5 hours every other week
  • Includes patient visits, laser hair removal verification spots, and provider support

Dayton, OH:

  • Minimum of 4 hours per month in-office

Cincinnati, OH:

  • Minimum of 4 hours per month in-office

Additional hours may be required for training, patient care, or operational needs across all 3 locations.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Ohio Medical License (MD or DO)
  • DEA registration in good standing
  • Experience in or interest in aesthetic medicine (injectables, lasers, body contouring, etc.) preferred
  • Strong understanding of medical regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Compensation & Structure

  • $3,500/month base compensation
  • Additional compensation may be offered at the discretion of the company
  • Independent contractor (1099) role
  • Professional liability insurance provided
