RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
FUNCTIONS
· Interview patients and document basic medical history. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care.
· Performs administrative functions for scheduling appointments, answering phone messages/triage and electronic and/or faxed communications for medical report or referral.
· Communicates with providers regarding patient/family health problems and treatment.
· Update and file medical records and insurance reports.
· Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
· Maintain all vaccine logs and required temperature checks
· Measure and record all vitals, update patient charts
· Assist during medical examinations
· Administer immunizations, obtain blood samples and dispensing prescription and non-prescription medications according to Clinic protocol
· Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
· Communicates with Care Coordinator and other health care providers regarding patient/family treatment and progress
· Handle medical supply ordering and stock
· Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
· Participates in continuing education
· Maintains HIPPA Compliance
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Education with certification in Medical Assisting
- One-year full time work experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting, pediatrics preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Ability to utilize computers with proficiency in MS Office and patient management software. Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures.
- Ability to interact positively with others. Strong organizational and planning skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
