The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

FNP/PA

Full-Time | Weekday Shifts (4 Ten-Hour Shifts per week) Weekend/Weeknight Call: Baseline requirement of 2 weeks of after-hours “LP beeper call” every 6 months (Two 7 consecutive day assignments)

This full-time position, based at Strong Memorial Hospital, offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Neuroradiology Imaging team within the Department of Imaging Sciences and play a key role in enhancing patient access to care and improving procedural throughput in a collaborative environment.

The Neurointeventional Imaging APP will be expected to perform both outpatient and hospital consultations, take patient’s history, perform physical examinations, collaborate on treatment planning and perform radiologic procedures, within their scope of the practice, under the supervision of a licensed Radiologist. The role also includes supporting the education of students and new employees through clinical teaching and skills training.

Candidates should be prepared to develop proficiency across the full range of neurointerventional imaging procedures and diagnostic workflows. This position requires the ability to work independently while contributing to team-based care. Scope of procedural proficiency includes blood patches, bone marrow biopsies/aspirations, intrathecal medication administration, lumbar drain placement, lumbar and cervical punctures for diagnostic/therapeutic purposes, nuclear medicine/CT cisternography, myelography, and moderate sedation administration. On the job training is available (as part of onboarding).

This position does include call coverage specifically for emergency lumbar punctures/myelograms. It may also expand to include provider support at other ambulatory locations. Additional opportunities for evening moonlighting coverage and potential productivity bonuses are available upon successful completion of orientation and training.

Qualified applicants must hold a current New York State license as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner and have active BLS ACLS certification. A minimum of one to two years of clinical practice experience is required. Previous experience in neurologic and/or radiologic procedures is strongly preferred.

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
