Duties
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Epic and eClinicalWorks
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring compliance with DEA regulations
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing advanced skills such as sonography, spirometry, and laboratory specimen collection/processing
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties including geriatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, and pain management
- Assist in procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, dermal fillers, Botox treatments (Botulinum toxin), and sterile processing techniques
- Provide patient education and health coaching tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and discharge planning
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines to optimize patient care in outpatient clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, or telehealth settings
Experience
- Proven experience working as an advanced practice provider (NP or PA) in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or urgent care
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT coding)
- Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers preferred; familiarity with ventilator management and airway procedures highly valued
- Experience performing procedures like venipuncture, tube feeding management, gastrostomy care, and spinal taps; proficiency in sterile technique required
- Background in specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), behavioral health or hospice & palliative medicine is advantageous
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law and utilization review processes; experience with case management is a plus
- Strong understanding of physiology knowledge for accurate diagnosis; excellent client communication skills essential for effective patient interactions
