Hourly Salary: $20/hr – $23/hr (varies depending on years of experience)
A community-based healthcare organization is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality oral health services in an outpatient setting. This role is essential to ensuring efficient clinic flow, patient comfort, and adherence to clinical and safety standards. The Dental Assistant will work closely with dentists and the broader care team to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to patient visits.
- Assist dentists during examinations, procedures, and treatments, including four-handed dentistry.
- Perform chairside duties such as suctioning, passing instruments, and maintaining a clear operative field.
- Ensure proper infection control by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Take and document patient medical and dental histories; record vital information as needed.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-procedure care, and preventive practices.
- Manage dental supplies and notify supervisors when inventory replenishment is required.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Support patient stabilization and safety during procedures in accordance with training and certification.
- Assist with additional clinical or administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Dental Assistant Stabilization Certification required (per state and organizational guidelines).
- Current infection control and CPR certification required.
- Prior experience in a dental or healthcare setting preferred; community health experience a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
