Full Job Description
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 12 hour shifts (or 2 12’s and 2 8’s) (Spine coverage and SOS Plus)
Purpose:
Responsible for providing medical care as delegated by physician. May be assigned to a specific physician however main responsibility is to all patients regardless of supervising physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates new and follow up patients who are scheduled.
- Orders appropriate diagnostic tests (labs, imaging).
- Applies and removes casts and splints for fracture care patients.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, physical therapy and occupational therapy.
- Maintains hospital and surgery center privileges to assist in surgery, make rounds, prescribe appropriate tests and medications.
- Participates in triage decisions.
- Follows guidelines set forth by NYSDOH, DEA, and CMS
- Provides office coverage for physicians (when physicians are not available) for labs, paperwork, etc.
- Performing injections: intra-articular, trigger point, trigger finger and inter-muscular.
- Responsible for history and physicals, patient teaching for upcoming surgery.
- Responsible for precepting student Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Maintains knowledge regarding changes in the practice of the midlevel.
- Documents notes efficiently and within appropriate billing guidelines.
- Responds to emergencies including using CPR.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Due to the nature of the PA/NP position we will only be able to consider those candidates who have previous experience in an acute care or orthopedic setting treating fractures, sprains/strains, dislocations etc.

Pay: $108,000 – $175,000
