Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in Pain Management to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Job Duties
- Standard Qualifications: The standard qualifications (duties) are as follows:
· Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF
· diagnose prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
· Shall provide outpatient health care to qualifying beneficiaries as scheduled by the Government.
· Will maintain a program of comprehensive health, to include preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health.
· Duty locations may include any Nellis/Creech AFB medical facilities.
· Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others in order to promote and facilitate patient care .
· Teach patients and family member’s healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
· Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement. Participate in the training and orientation of newly assigned personnel and contribute to team discussions during patient care conferences, safety huddles, and professional staff meetings
· Attend the daily clinic safety huddle and monthly flight meetings, where clinic information will be disseminated.
· Clearly communicate findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans to other health personnel, both orally and in written documentation. Effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals in a professional manner
Experience
- Proven experience in acute pain management within hospital environments such as Level I/II trauma centers or emergency rooms.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms for medical records management.
- Prior involvement in clinical research or clinical trials focusing on pain therapies or related fields like infectious disease care or occupational health is highly desirable.
- Experience with advanced procedures such as spinal taps, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), ventilator management (neonatal ventilator experience a plus), and airway management techniques.
- Strong background in emergency medicine, ICU care, or medical-surgical units with familiarity in ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to analgesics, anesthetics, and injectable treatments along with skills in medication administration and injection techniques.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to perform physical examinations using aseptic technique while maintaining a compassionate approach.

Education and Experience:
Degree/Education: Contract Worker must have a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies degree from a PA educational program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission for the Physician Assistant or its predecessors, and acceptable to the Surgeon General, USAF, is mandatory – OR – f. Must have successfully completed all education and training requirements leading to and graduated from an accredited national, state or military equivalent school (MSN or DNP degree) for Nurse Practitioner (Family and/ or Geriatric Specialty)
· Equivalency Determination Request: The Contractor may not request an equivalency determination as a substitute for education requirements on this labor category.
· General Knowledge: In addition to the general PA or NP skillset, contractor should have advanced knowledge of pharmacology and pain management protocols and demonstrate proficiency in performing minor surgical procedures and injections.
· Experience: Shall have a minimum of 24 months of experience working as a Physician
Assistant/Nurse Practitioner within the last 36 months. Previous experience in pain management or related fields is required, including knowledge of interventional pain management techniques, pharmacotherapy for chronic pain, and multimodal pain management strategies. Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military healthcare system, including TRICARE health benefits and familiarity with the unique needs of military families.
Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support): None
Board Certification: Must hold current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Maintenance of required certification is mandatory
- Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
Licensure: Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory
