Physician Assistant (PA)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) Job Description
Mission:

Requirements: Current licensure as a PA/NP in Minnesota and North Dakota.Current certification in CPR.National certification in applicable area.
Successful completion of credentialing process prior to practice.
Clinical experience required, surgical experience preferred.
Standards of Employment
§ Attend all mandatory education programs and demonstrate proficiency related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
§ Attend all department-specific training, and demonstrate proficiency related to safety and job-related hazards.
§ Ensure charting and billing, patient phone calls and portal messages, orders/results, etc are completed and/or followed up in a timely fashion.
§ Attire is neat, clean, appropriate for the work environment.
§ Maintain confidentiality of all clinic and patient information at all times.
§ Report to work on time and maintain defined standards for attendance.
§ Attend staff meetings, and read all minutes of meetings not attended.
Job Description:
The PA/NP will work in close collaboration with Dr. Broadway and team to establish and manage the Northern Neurosurgery and Spine outpatient clinic in Fargo. The clinical aspect of the practice will consist of consultations, coordinating surgeries, postoperative follow-up visits, hospital rounding, etc. While there will be no formal call responsibilities, the PA/NP will be expected to call postoperative patients on the day of their surgery and/or discharge, be available by phone for questions after hours and round on patients admitted to the surgical center or hospital. Rounding responsibilities will be coordinated directly with Dr. Broadway on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role will have administrative duties including patient scheduling, prior authorization, billing and revenue cycle management, etc, as well as other duties as assigned by Dr. Broadway or the administrator.
Surgical responsibilities will include assisting Dr. Broadway in both is hospital and surgery center cases.
Schedule:
The clinic will be open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. The PA/NP will be expected to be onsite and practicing 4-5 days per week as schedules and volumes dictate. Rounding responsibilities are separate. The schedule will be set jointly by the PA/NP and administrator and may be adjusted as necessary to ensure patients are seen on a timely basis with a focus on very efficient throughput and a goal of wait times for new patients being less than one week. The clinic will be closed on all major holidays unless an exception is deemed necessary.
Outreach:
Outreach to the surrounding communities may be expected as the practice grows.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
