Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)Part-Time to Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm | Hybrid

Casey Mental Health Collaborative is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing outpatient psychiatry practice. This is a part-time to full-time, temporary-to-permanent position with opportunity for long-term employment based on mutual agreement and performance.

We strongly prefer candidates with experience and training in child and adolescent psychiatry, in addition to adult care.

Schedule & Work Model

  • Afternoon and early evening hours while building caseload
  • Opportunity to expand hours up to full-time
  • Hybrid position: Minimum 2 days per week in-office
  • Telehealth permitted on pre-arranged designated days
  • No inpatient, on-call, or overnight responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management
  • Treat children, adolescents, and adults
  • Conduct 60-minute intakes and 30-minute follow-ups
  • Collaborate closely with therapists and medical providers
  • Participate in weekly 1:1 supervision and collaborative care meetings
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in Valant (EHR)
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, within established outpatient psychiatric standards, policies, and monitoring expectations
  • Opportunity to participate in TMS and Ketamine depression treatments
  • Occasional injectable medication administration

Productivity Expectations

  • Follow-ups: Typically 2 patients per hour (30-minute visits)
  • Optional increase to 3–4 patients per hour, based on comfort, demand, and workflow
  • Intakes: 60 minutes per patient
  • New intakes capped at 3 max per day during case-load establishment

Supervision & Support

  • Supervision provided on-site and remotely by Dr. Robin Casey, MD
  • Weekly individual supervision meetings
  • Regular interdisciplinary collaboration with medical providers and therapists
  • Strong administrative and clinical infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Licensed PMHNP or PA-C in North Carolina
  • Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Outpatient psychiatry experience required
  • Child and adolescent psychiatry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Commitment to ethical, patient-centered, evidence-based care

Compensation & Employment Structure

This position is structured to support gradual case-load development with a clear pathway to full-time employment.

  • Initial phase (part-time, caseload-building):
  • Compensation based on 50% of collected visit revenue
  • Salaried phase (once transitioned to full-time):
  • 20 hours/week (0.5 FTE): $50,000 – $80,000 annually
  • 40 hours/week (1.0 FTE): $115,000 – $120,000 annually

Final compensation will reflect experience, patient population, productivity, and role evolution.

Important Role Expectations

This position is intended for clinicians seeking a primary, long-term role, with the goal of transitioning to full-time employment within the practice. It is not designed as a side gig or secondary position.

Patients are established through Casey Mental Health Collaborative and, as such, patient panels remain with the practice if a provider does not transition to full-time status or if employment ends.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
