Wake Gastroenterology is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant for their outpatient service line.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited advance practice training program (Physician Assistant, Certified)
- Current license from the North Carolina Board of Medicine.
- Ability to render patient care as directed, to the full extent of professional training.
- Ability to support physician(s) as directed within all professional, technical, and legal parameters.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform, under the responsibility of a physician, diagnostic, therapeutic and related tasks, thereby allowing the physician(s) to extend services through more effective use of knowledge in the sphere of decision-making required to establish a diagnosis and to plan and initiate therapy.
STANDARDS
- Perform focused history and physical examination on patients.
- Evaluate health problems and recognize signs and symptoms of potentially serious conditions, referring accordingly.
- Prepare applicable and acceptable chart notes (in conjunction with physician[s]), if needed.
- Write orders, as applicable (in conjunction with physician[s]).
- Dictate complete entries in the medical record. Notes will be reviewed by supervising physician.
- Prepare admission, under direction of physician.
- Follow up on patient lab, therapies, x-ray, etc.
- Assist with triaging urgent patient needs.
- Additional procedures as privileged.
Wake Gastroenterology is a division of Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, Inc., a physician owned practice of 28 doctors and seven Physician Assistants that has been in business for over 85 years and is an NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home recognized practice with offices in Raleigh and North Raleigh, North Carolina. Started in 1938 by a single doctor, Wake Internal Medicine has grown to four multi-disciplinary practices. We have several in-office ancillary services for our patients that include: CLIA certified lab, CAP certified pathology lab, imaging services including CT, Ultrasound, x-ray, and bone density, nuclear medicine and an infusion suite. WIMC consistently meets or exceeds the benchmarks of the Medical Group Managers Association’s Best Performing Practices and received the NC MGMA Practice of the Year designation for the state in 2015.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $93,219.47 – $110,081.51 per year
