Full Job Description

Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Physician Assistant provides primary care to participants. Performs physical assessments of new PACE enrollees, semi-annual reassessments of participants, and develops and implements appropriate plans of care to participants. Evaluates participant physical complaints and provides appropriate treatment. Provides participants and caregiver teaching and education. Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan, care for, and provide services to frail elder participants according to assigned responsibilities and PACE standards. Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. Must be able to meet EveryAge’s auto insurance carrier’s standards for coverage. Current Physician Assistant license in North Carolina. Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. Graduate of certified or accredited Physician Assistant Program with five to seven years related experience with three years’ experience as Physician Assistant or a Master’s Degree and five years related experience. Current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required. Experience: A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required. Two years’ experience as Physician Assistant in a geriatric setting desirable. Shall have either training or related experience in the job assigned.
