This position is within Womack Army Medical Center’s Department of Family Medicine, Primary Care Service Line Fort Bragg, NC.
We provide care to over 95,000 beneficiaries including active-duty military, service member families, retirees and their spouses.
Fort Bragg is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Many facilities and services are offered such as first class golfing venues and renowned universities, a skeet range, riding stables, ice skating rink, state-of-the-art fitness centers, daycare, star-quality dining, full service banking, convenience shop, barbershop, and florist.
Responsibilities:
As a Physician Assistant (Family Practice) you will perform duties such as:
- Make decisions concerning primary care needs of patients with physicians.
- Prescribe for and treat a variety of diseases, disorders and injuries for assigned patients.
- Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional or mental problems of clients.
- Write prescriptions, order the administration of medications, dispense medications and prescribe controlled substance in accordance with approved treatment protocols.
- Evaluate the total health care needs of patients and develop plans to meet clients’ needs.
Qualifications:
US Citizenship Required
At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant treating patients in a Family Practice setting.
Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.
Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.
All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
