Full Job Description
Under standardized privileges, the physician assistant will provide clinical expertise to patients and their families. The role of the physician assistant in Cardiovascular Services will center on patient care for both inpatients and outpatients undergoing invasive procedures through the continuum of care. The physician assistant will function in collaboration with the physician team members caring for this population. The physician assistant will function within their governing body’s Scope of Practice. Care provided includes, but is not limited to, physical evaluation of patients; ordering, performance and interpretation of test results; performing or assisting with surgical and invasive procedures within the scope of practice; follow-up evaluations; and patient care planning. The physician assistant in this specialty area are academically and clinically trained to perform many of the routine and specific examinations and interventions as approved in the Standardized Procedures.
