Carolina Digestive Health Associates is looking for a full-time PA/NP to provides services at our University office. This position provides GI care to include consults, rounds, and close communication with the MD on call. Competitive hourly rate. No nights/weekends. 2+ years GI experience required.
Atrium experience/credentials preferred but not required.
Summary: The Advanced Care Practitioner provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of the Physician by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the completion of referrals, consults, and daily patient rounds
- Assist in the staffing of outpatient practice as needed
- Provide pre- and –post-procedure care
- Position to maintain the scope of practice to be consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board and any other federal or state regulatory agency as well as the policies of Carolina Digestive Health Associates.
- Examines patient, performs a comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as imaging and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures to include, but not limited to, injections, feeding tube insertion, removal, or exchange, wound care, and managing infections.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, nutrition and development, healthy lifestyle changes, and health maintenance.
- Upholds the CDHA mission by actively contributing to the achievement of organizational goals, supporting leadership, promoting unity, and teamwork for the benefit of patients.
- Demonstrates a commitment to quality of care.
- Maintains a clear focus on patient safety in every interaction with every patient.
- Actively participate in workplace improvement to maintain a patient service excellence environment.
- Adheres to all industry standards related to infection control, patient confidentiality, and regulatory and accrediting body’s requirements (i.e. HIPAA, OSHA, and AAAHC).
- Follow and comply with all safety policies.

Requirements:

Education/ and or Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioners Program
- Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training
- GI/hospital experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education.
- Completes all mandatory reviews/educational required and assigned.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.

- Retains all accreditations, licensures, and designations in good standing.
- Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
Specialized Knowledge Required – Including any required certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Registered with the State of North Carolina Medical board as a Physician Assistant and maintaining certification necessary for ongoing practice.
- Registered with the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner and maintaining certification necessary.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- The provider should also be educated and knowledgeable on CDHA’s EMR along with the EMR of affiliated hospital systems. The provider is willing to undergo all training and education related to applicable EMR’s.
