Physician Assistant
Full Time for Busy Multi-Specialist Clinic, located in Elon, NC.
Job Description: Kernodle Clinic is a respected and progressive multi-specialty group practice with Clinics in Burlington, Mebane and Elon. Kernodle Clinic is a multi-specialty practice with approximately 100 Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers located just off I-40/I-85. Burlington is accessible as a day trip to NC mountains and beaches. Ample recreational activities, shopping, and easy access to metros (Greensboro, Raleigh and Durham) are unique to Burlington.
We are currently looking for a compassionate individual to join our team at Elon Family Practice as a Physician Assistant. While experience is preferred, we welcome new graduates to apply. All candidates must have graduated from an accredited PA program and hold a current licensure/certification to practice as a PA. It is essential that candidates demonstrate the highest level of professional judgment under the supervision of a licensed physician. BLS certification is also required for this position. The full-time schedule for this role would be Monday through Friday, with 4 ½ days of work per week.
Job Type: Full-time Duties Include, but not limited to the following:
- When providing direct patient care, including patient related telephone conversations, uses double identifiers to ensure right patient every time.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient’s record in EPIC; write progress note; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient
- Carry out therapeutic procedures such as wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient’s progress.
- Goes to Alamance Regional Medical Center to do hospital consultations.
