Physician Assistant
Part Time for Busy Multi-Specialist Clinic, located in Burlington, NC.
Job Description: Kernodle Clinic is a respected and progressive multi-specialty group practice with Clinics in Burlington, Mebane and Elon. Kernodle Clinic is a multi-specialty practice with approximately 100 Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers located just off I-40/I-85. Burlington is accessible as a day trip to NC mountains and beaches. Ample recreational activities, shopping, and easy access to metros (Greensboro, Raleigh and Durham) are unique to Burlington.
We are currently seeking patient-focused individuals for a Physician Assistant position within our Walk In Clinic Department. Experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome. Part time schedule for the position would require 2 days/week – Tuesday and Thursday 8AM – 7PM and two weekends out of the month (Saturday, 9AM – 1PM and Sunday 1PM – 4PM).
All candidates must be graduates of an accredited PA program, and possess a current licensure/certification to perform as an PA and must exercise the highest degree of professional judgment under the direction of a licensed physician. BLS certification required.
Job Type: Full-time Duties Include, but not limited to the following:
  • When providing direct patient care, including patient related telephone conversations, uses double identifiers to ensure right patient every time.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician.
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient’s record in EPIC; write progress note; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient
  • Carry out therapeutic procedures such as wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient’s progress.
  • Goes to Alamance Regional Medical Center to do hospital consultations.
