Position SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support our therapy team in providing home health services in Las Cruces and nearby areas. In this role, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to help patients improve mobility, strength, and overall function in their daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in carrying out individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct patient care including therapeutic exercises and mobility training
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety practices
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and patient outcomes
- Support discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver coordinated care
- Follow all safety protocols and home health guidelines
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
- Previous experience in home health, geriatrics, or orthopedics preferred
- Strong understanding of patient care practices and medical terminology
- Good communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned visits
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
