Job Summary
Join our dynamic cardiothoracic surgical team as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, providing comprehensive assessments, assisting in complex procedures, and managing patient recovery. Your expertise will contribute to innovative clinical research efforts and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Assist in cardiothoracic surgeries such as cardiac catheterization, thoracotomies, and other complex procedures within the operating room environment.
- Manage acute pain and airway issues using aseptic techniques, ventilator management, and emergency protocols in critical care settings.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, EHR systems like Epic or Cerner, and interpret laboratory results including ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation.
- Administer medications and injections, including botulinum toxin treatments when indicated for specific conditions.
- Participate in triage and urgent care activities, providing timely interventions for trauma cases at Level I and Level II trauma centers.
- Engage in clinical research projects, data collection, and analysis to support ongoing studies related to cardiothoracic health outcomes.
- Coordinate discharge planning and post-acute care to ensure seamless patient transitions across hospital medicine, rehabilitation facilities, or home care settings.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in CT, thoracic, or congenital cardiac surgery required (no new grads)
- EVH experience needed
- Robotic surgical experience preferred
- NP: Master’s in Nursing or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- NM license or able to obtain before start, DEA, ACLS, BLS
Pay: $170,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
