Job Summary
We run an independent online resource for the trucking, drayage, and shipping industry serving the NY–NJ port terminals. The site gives truckers and importers daily gate hours, closures, wait times, and a directory of local service providers. We’re looking for one reliable, tech-comfortable person to keep the site accurate, current, and growing. This is a hands-on “run the whole thing” role mornings you update the data, and the rest of the time you improve the site, manage listings, and handle incoming leads. Equity / ownership opportunity. This isn’t just a task job. We’re building something early, and for the right person who proves they can own it and grow it, there’s a real path to an equity stake in the business not just an hourly wage. What you’ll do.
– Update the site each morning with current gate hours, closures, and advisories pulled from terminal portals and public traffic feeds (we’ll train you on the exact sources)
-Keep the service-provider directory clean and up to date.
-Respond to and organize incoming quote requests and leads.
-Write short, clear web content (service pages, updates, listings) using AI tools to work faster. Basic on-page SEO titles, descriptions, keywords so pages rank.
-Light research on companies and industry info to keep listings accurate.
Skills we’re looking for
Required:
-Comfortable managing a website (WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or similar) you can edit pages, update content, and fix small things without hand-holding.
-Strong general computer and internet skills; you learn new tools fast. Good written English clear, professional, no fluff. Reliable and self-directed; this role runs on someone doing the daily update without being reminded.
Big plus (tell us if you have these):
-Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to write content and speed up research
-Basic SEO knowledge (keywords, meta tags, Google Business Profile, local search)
-Familiarity with lead management or simple CRM toolsAny exposure to logistics, trucking, shipping, or portsBasic data skills — copying, organizing, and formatting information cleanly (spreadsheets, simple automation a bonus)
-Light graphic/image editing (Canva-level is fine)Nice to have: Google Analytics or similar Experience embedding maps or live data feeds
-Social media management
