Full Job Description
Are you an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNPs) or NICU Physician Assistants seeking a new position in the coastal New Jersey area? We are hiring Locum Tenens or Permanent APPs for our high-acuity Level III NICUs!
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in neonatal and pediatric care, demonstrating expertise in critical care, medical procedures, and family-centered support.
Schedules: Day/Night Shifts, Weekends, Multiple shift variations available
Duties and position overview:
- Conduct thorough neonatal assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and developmental evaluations to determine patient needs.
- Manage acute and chronic neonatal conditions by implementing evidence-based treatment plans, including medication administration and IV infusions.
- Perform specialized procedures such as intubation, suturing, spinal taps, and dermal filler assessments when appropriate within scope of practice.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical research data.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide family education on neonatal health issues, discharge planning, nutrition, and developmental milestones to promote ongoing wellness at home.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to neonatal medicine and contribute to quality improvement projects aligned with hospital standards.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while maintaining sterile techniques during procedures like catheterization or specimen collection.
Experience:
- Proven experience working in neonatal intensive care units (NICU), pediatric units, or Level II/Level III trauma centers with exposure to PICU settings preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in critical care procedures such as ventilator management, spinal taps, and airway management.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and case management purposes.
