Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and vital signs documentation using EMR systems such as Athena
- Assist in dermatological procedures such as dermal fillers, dermabrasion, laser treatments, and injection administration for conditions like acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and skin cancers.
- Manage patient triage for urgent skin concerns and coordinate follow-up care, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Educate patients on skin health, treatment options, and post-procedure care while providing health coaching tailored to individual needs.
- Document clinical findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems) and utilize CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Support clinical research initiatives related to dermatology treatments and participate in data collection for quality improvement projects.
- Collaborate with hospital teams on inpatient consultations for complex skin conditions requiring acute care or ICU experience.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current state licensure in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience with dermatology procedures such as dermal fillers, Botox (botulinum toxin treatment), suturing, and esthetic laser treatments.
- Proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques specific to dermatology.
- Experience working within hospital or outpatient settings with exposure to hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, patient assessment, intake procedures, and vital signs measurement efficiently.
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for billing and documentation accuracy.
- Skills in medical records management, data collection, and clinical trials participation are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards. Pay: $100.00 – $125.00 per hour
