Full Job Description

Support Veterans. No Treatment Required.

WoVets LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct general medical exams for military Veterans applying for disability and compensation benefits. This is a part-time, 1099 contract opportunity with no diagnosis or treatment involved.

All training, scheduling, and documentation guidance will be provided, allowing you to focus on what matters most: helping Veterans.

What You’ll Do:

  • Apply your clinical expertise in the evaluation and diagnosis of medical and/or psychiatric conditions to support a Veteran’s disability claim
  • Gather and synthesize clinical evidence through medical and military record review, diagnostic testing, interviews with Veterans, and face-to-face structured examinations
  • Develop a medical opinion of likelihood that the Veteran’s condition is related to their military service through objective, evidence-based findings
  • Complete electronic Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours
  • Respond promptly to any necessary addendums

Here is a typical workflow for a provider:

  • Exam Request Received > Testing and Exam Schedule > Provider Reviews Records > Veteran Exam Completion > Report Reviewed and Submitted within 48 hours of the Veterans exam.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (APRN-NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) (Required)
  • Active, unrestricted license in the state where exams will be conducted (Required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Prior experience with disability exams is a plus, but not required. Training is provided.
  • Strong written communication skills (Required)
  • Attention to detail and comfort with electronic medical documentation

Pay: $100.00 – $140.00 per hour
