Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistantfor Department of Neurosurgery
No shift work, No weekends and no on call responsibilities
Provide initial and ongoing assessment of patient’s medical, physical, and psychosocial status. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and laboratory studies. Work with the multidisciplinary team to establish and implement coordinated care plan for patients in the Upstate Neurosurgery Clinic.
This is a clinic-based position, there is no requirement for surgical first assistant.

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master’s Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA). Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. Previous neurosurgery clinical NP experience preferred. Prior experience in specialty area preferred.
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. L5: $92,000 – $147,200 Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. The salary range depicted is based on full time, 1.0 FTE and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
