Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, including experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks, and demonstrate proficiency in a variety of medical settings. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient environments, managing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting clinical research initiatives. The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services within a hospital or clinic setting, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and best practices in patient safety.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history documentation.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory data collection, and clinical trials.
- Administer injections, medications, and IV infusions while following aseptic techniques.
- Assist with procedures such as suturing, casting, and splinting
- Document patient encounters accurately using EMR systems; ensure compliance with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in clinical research projects or public health initiatives.
- Maintain infection control standards and adhere to OSHA guidelines during all procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement activities aligned with NCQA standards; contribute to medical records management and data collection efforts.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Physician Assistant from an accredited program; current licensure to practice in the state.
- Proven experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical imaging documentation is preferred.
- Extensive clinical experience across various specialties, including emergency medicine, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, or Urgent Care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, and medication administration (including injections).
- Experience working within HIPAA guidelines, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to manage complex diagnostic evaluations using advanced diagnostic tools; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is required.
- Strong communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred for those involved in ICU or emergency settings.
