- Highland Hospital is seeking an overnight Cross Cover APP for its Department of Medicine team. These newly created roles will help support our overnight team to decrease patient loads and gain efficiencies with our care model. Candidates for this role would work a rotating schedule that would involve: one (1) month of Sunday – Tuesday, overnight shifts, followed by one (1) month of Wednesday – Friday shifts. Candidates will share holiday coverage through the group as well, being required to cover 2 or 3 of 9 observed holidays per year. Large overnight differential available for this role!
Some duties include but are not limited to: Complete history and physical exams on assigned admissions including medication reconciliation, complete all orders including appropriate labs and diagnostic testing, medications, therapy evaluations, medications etc. Consult appropriate services needed during the hospital stay for any acute issues identified on admission. Discuss and collaborate with attending MD on plan of care. Admit to the hospitalist/geriatrician, Highland family medicine, Culver medical group including the complex care center, Wilmot cancer center, and chronic vent services. Salary Range: $98,000.00 – $130,083.20 annually The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements
- Education: Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.
- Experience: 1 year experience preferred
- License/Certification Required: Valid NYS license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. BLS/ACLS certified.
- Skills: Epic EMR trained. Proficiency in central venous and arterial access. Management and resuscitation of unstable patients. Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional behavior and commitment to quality care; ability to work autonomously; excellent interpersonal skills.
