PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

GENERAL SURGERY/ENT

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center and accredited stroke center. A community-based hospital conveniently located in Queens, NY we provide innovative and comprehensive surgical care to treat patients with a wide range of rare and complex conditions.

We are currently seeking experienced Physician Assistants with prior Surgical experience for immediate full-time opportunities in our General Surgery/ENT Department. As a PA in our ENT department you will be directly responsible for reviewing patient medical histories, making diagnoses, providing treatments and assessing ENT patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing a broad spectrum of care including diagnosis, ordering medications and diagnostics.
• Collaboratively working with supervising physician(s) and care team to provide quality medical care and facilitate patient-centered safety.
• Participating in daily rounds with attending physicians to develop and implement individual patient clinical care plans.
• Entering and sending medication orders and treatment instructions.
• Consulting with nursing and ancillary medical teams and staff regarding patient condition and plan of care.
• Conducting physical examinations and recording patient progress
• Regularly documenting and updating patient history, physical exams, consultations and daily progress notes.
• Counseling and educating patients and participating in outreach programs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education.
• Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA),
• Current BLS certification,

SALARY: $65.31/hr. – $73.54/hr

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65.31 – $73.54 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
