Vantage Medical Associates is a Multi-specialty Group is looking for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Gastroenterology for part-time or full-time employment to see gastroenterology consults in our queens and Long Islands practices. The position is outpatient based with practice primarily focused in office settings. Both locations have endoscopy suites where the physician will do procedures. Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: – Must be dynamic, hardworking and able to multitask- Must Have at least 1 year of experience in Gastroenterology- Interested in long term commitment and career growth. Competitive salary based on your experience. Qualified candidates must be certified and licensed and eligible for New York State.
Performs a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation.
Job Responsibility
- Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
- Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
- Interprets laboratory and test results.
- Confers with attending physicians, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
- Performs consults and follow up visits for nursing home patients.
- Evaluate patients, enter patient care orders, perform procedures, and provide education to patients.
- Follow through on interpretation of results and communicate with the attending physician.
- Request consultations from other services and provide appropriate work up and follow through on recommendations, including communication to the primary team.
- Be accessible, available, and visible to staff to address patient concerns.
- Document pertinent patient information in the EMR including, but not limited to: progress, event, or transfer notes.
- Participate in on-call coverage rotation to include as relevant to scheduled hours.
- Work to achieve efficient, cost effective, and high-quality patient care.
- Adhere to schedule guidelines and fulfill scheduled hours of work.
- Conduct meaningful discussions with patients following their initial consultation with the physician.
- Actively identify and address barriers to care that might keep the patient from receiving timely and appropriate treatment for their diagnosis.
- Connect patients with resources, healthcare, and support services in their communities if needed.
Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
- Current BLS certification, required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $150,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
