Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Status : Part Time 11.5 hr

Position Summary
Summary: Under the direction of the Supervising/Attending Physician, the Physician Assistant assists in any function relating to the diagnosis and treatment of patients within the hospital. The Physician Assistant is concerned with preventing, maintaining, and treating human illness and injury by providing a broad range of health care services that are traditionally performed by a physician. The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive care of acutely or critically ill patients in the critical care units requiring intensive monitoring. Physician Assistant conducts physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, perform procedures as per competency assessment, counsel on preventive health care, and write prescriptions.
Qualifications
Responsibilities: Education Required

  • Must complete in-house orientation program
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program

Experience And Skills

  • Speaks, reads and writes English
  • At least one year experience and/or skills in critical care area of practice
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • License/Certifications
  • Current NYS Physician Assistant License/ Registration
  • Continuing Education Units: CMEs as required by NYS to maintain licensure
  • Certifications: Current BLS/ACLS/NCCPA

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn (face shields, gloves, impermeable gown, particulate respirator)
  • Frequent, prolonged standing/walking, lifts, positions and/or transfer of patients.
