About Us: We are a small, specialized gynecologic surgical practice dedicated to minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive care for patients with conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids and infertility. Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team of 3 surgeons and 2 PAs. This is a full-time role supporting a gynecologic surgery practice. The PA will assist with patient care, procedures, and surgical support while ensuring excellent patient experiences from consult through postoperative follow-up.
Prior experience in the operating room and/or in Gynecology is highly preferred, but not required.
Schedule:
- Full-time, mostly on site in NYC region but some travel may be required.
- Flexible hours required, roughly 40-50 hours
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and vital sign monitoring
- Assist in gynecologic surgical procedures, including outpatient and minor surgeries
- Manage acute pain and provide post-operative care, including discharge planning and follow-up visits
- Document clinical encounters accurately using EMR systems such as Epic, Practice Fusion and/or Athena.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging and laboratory data collection
- Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with best practices in gynecology
- Participate in telehealth consultations and coordinate care for patients remotely when applicable
- Participation in video education and social media
- Possible shared call coverage
Requirements
- Active Physician Assistant license in New York State.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience in gynecology or surgical specialties preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
