Job Description – Physician Assistant – Urology (Full Time)
Location: Hospital Based in Queens, NYDepartment: UrologySchedule: Full-Time | [Mon–Fri, rotating call if applicable]

The Urology Department provides comprehensive services ranging from minimally invasive surgery to advanced treatment for complex genitourinary conditions. We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to support our expanding service line and enhance continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Position Summary:
The Urology Physician Assistant works collaboratively with attending urologists to deliver exceptional care to patients with acute and chronic urologic conditions. This role includes outpatient clinics, inpatient rounding, pre- and post-operative management, and participation in surgical procedures depending on department needs. The PA serves as an essential member of the care team and plays a key role in ensuring timely access and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Outpatient Care:
- Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
- Diagnose, manage, and treat urologic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
- Perform in-office procedures (catheterizations, voiding trials, bladder instillations, wound care, etc.)
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, procedures, and long-term condition management
Inpatient & Consult Services:
- Round on admitted patients and update daily progress notes
- Assist with inpatient consults from the Emergency Department and hospital floors
- Coordinate care with nursing units, case management, and other specialties
Surgical Support:
- Assist urologists in the OR for procedures such as cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, TURP/TURBT, and robotic-assisted surgeries (if applicable)
- Participate in pre-op assessments, post-op checks, and follow-up care
Documentation & Coordination:
- Complete accurate and timely EMR documentation, i.e. Epic
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care
- Support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to hospital policies
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active NCCPA certification
- Active NY State PA license or eligibility
- BLS certification (ACLS may be required depending on service)
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Preferred:
- Prior experience in urology, surgical services, or inpatient hospital care
- OR assisting experience
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, or similar EMR systems
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced hospital setting with a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and procedural responsibilities
- May require rotating schedules, including limited weekend or on-call support depending on department needs

Pay: $160,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
