Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine diagnosis and treatment needs.
  • Administer injections, manage airway procedures, perform suturing, and execute other clinical interventions with precision and aseptic technique.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, data collection, and medical records management.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluations using medical imaging, laboratory tests, and diagnostic tools; interpret results to inform clinical decisions.
  • Manage acute pain and infectious disease cases within hospital or outpatient settings; coordinate care for ICU, neonatal ventilator management, or PICU patients as needed.
  • Participate in clinical research or clinical trials to advance medical knowledge; contribute to data management and research documentation.
  • Support triage processes in emergency room or urgent care environments; prioritize patient needs efficiently in high-pressure situations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, post-acute care, hospice & palliative medicine, and home care services.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA standards while administering medications, CPT coding for procedures, ICD coding for diagnoses, and ensuring proper documentation for billing purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience managing medical records electronically is essential.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or neonatal ventilator management; familiarity with ventilator settings and airway management techniques is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with procedures such as phlebotomy, radiation therapy support, dialysis assistance, spinal taps, or dermal fillers is advantageous.
  • Background in outpatient clinics or urgent care settings; experience with telehealth platforms enhances your ability to deliver remote patient care effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, CPT coding procedures, ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate billing and documentation.
  • Experience administering injections and performing physical examinations across diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques during invasive procedures like catheterization or gastric lavage is required.
