Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our clinical team. The Physician Assistant will provide high-quality, comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan while practicing under the supervision of a licensed physician. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, health promotion, disease prevention, and the effective management of acute and chronic conditions. The PA will collaborate closely with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary care teams to support excellent clinical outcomes, quality improvement, and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and assessment of presenting concerns
- Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and preventive health conditions
- Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and x-rays
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with scope of practice and state regulations
- Provide therapeutic interventions including wound care, suturing, bandaging, splinting, casting, and minor procedures
- Administer immunizations and other preventive services
- Respond to emergency situations using appropriate stabilization measures
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
- Supervise and collaborate with medical technicians, nurses, and support staff as appropriate
- Maintain ongoing communication with the supervising physician and Medical Director
- Utilize electronic health record systems to ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and supportive work environment
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New York State Physician Assistant license
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience required
- Current BCLS certification
- Current Infection Control certification
- Current Child Abuse Identification and Reporting certification
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education (CME) and ethical clinical practice
- Strong clinical judgment, organizational, and time-management skills
- Compassionate, service-oriented approach to patient care
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health record systems
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
