Full Job Description

Flexstaff is partnering with leading hospitals in Queens, NY to direct hire a Physician Assistant for their medicine department. This is an exceptional opportunity for career growth and professional development within a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in providing comprehensive patient care within the department. You will perform a variety of essential functions, including patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and outcome evaluation, collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the PA team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed patient assessments and obtain comprehensive medical histories.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions under the supervision of attending physicians within the PA medicine service.
  • Perform technical procedures necessary for patient care, as appropriate for a PA.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and implement individualized treatment plans within the PA medicine framework.
  • Provide patient education and counseling to ensure thorough understanding of diagnoses, treatments and self-management strategies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and optimizing the delivery of PA-led care.
  • Interpret laboratory and test results, consulting with supervising physicians as needed.
  • Upon discharge, complete discharge summaries, prescriptions and any necessary referrals, ensuring continuity of care within the PA medicine service.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope of PA practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current NY State Physician Assistant license
  • Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Experience preferred. New Grads encouraged to apply.
  • Current BLS certification
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

When determining a team member’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $100,000 -$180,000 per year.
