Seeking a FULL TIME Physician Assistant

Title: Physician Assistant

Department: Surgery

Reports to: Chief of Surgery

Pay Range: $95,000 – $110,000 annually

Position Summary: The physician assistant evaluates patients with chronic and complex acute wounds to promote and maintains healing. Coordinating care with auxiliary services and primary care provider to prevent recurrence. Additionally, evaluating and determining suitability of patients for hyperbaric therapy and supervising care regimen.

Essential Functions:

  • Primary job function to evaluate and manage patients with chronic and complex acute wounds in the ECMC Center for Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine
  • Follow-up on labs, consultations from other services, and diagnostic studies
  • Discharge patients from hospital once criteria are met
  • Respond to calls from patients and home nursing care regarding patient problems/ changes in status.
  • Initial and follow-up visits in the Center for Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.
  • Perform routine debridements, wound vac changes and other procedures as indicated.
  • Respond to nurse and office staff calls and questions regarding patients.

Other Functions:

  • Assist physicians and staff to meet compliance requirements
  • Participate in continued medical education, and take recertification exams as needed to maintain certification.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Graduation from an accredited Physicians Assistant program and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants

Pay commensurate with education and experience
