OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and be committed to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including acute care, primary care, and specialty areas. This role requires proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, airway management, and medication administration.
- Manage acute pain and provide hospice & palliative medicine as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks).
- Participate in clinical research and data collection for ongoing studies.
- Provide education and health coaching to patients regarding their conditions and treatments.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Conduct triage in emergency settings and manage patients in urgent care scenarios.
Skills
- Proficient in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding for accurate billing.
- Experience with critical care, ICU, or emergency medicine preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with telehealth practices and outpatient care management.
- Strong skills in data management and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to perform various medical procedures including phlebotomy, IV infusion, catheterization, and gastric lavage.
- Experience with pediatric care (PICU), geriatrics, family planning, addiction counseling, or infectious disease care is a plus.
- Understanding of public health principles and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments such as Level I or II trauma centers.
