Physician Assistant – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)Location: Brooklyn, New YorkSchedule: Full-Time, Permanent PositionShifts: Rotating Days and Nights (12-hour shifts)Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (40 hours per week)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team. This critical role involves providing advanced care to patients in a high-acuity setting, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise, adaptability, and a passion for excellence in patient care to a fast-paced environment. This role includes rotating weekend coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients in the SICU, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform invasive procedures as credentialed and provide emergency interventions when required.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and health maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Physician Assistant license from the New York State Department of Education.
- Board certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current BCLS certification; ACLS certification required if mandated by the department.

Pay: $139,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year
