Surgical Intensive Care Unit – Physician Assistant

- Rotating Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team. This role involves delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, ensuring the best outcomes for critically ill surgical patients.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure: Licensed by the New York State Department of Education.
- Certification: Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Certifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required if departmental policy mandates).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to critically ill patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit under the supervision of attending physicians.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform bedside procedures as required.
- Monitor and adjust treatments based on patient response and condition.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $138,000.00 – $153,000.00 per year
