Job Summary

Our Clinical Physician Assistant is a crucial part of our mission with their primary responsibilities being to provide high-quality medical care to patients in both clinic and home settings including conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and injuries, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating follow-up care.

Responsibilities include not limited to:

  • Reviewing patients’ medical histories before procedures or checkups.
  • Making a diagnosis of a patient’s condition and confirming the diagnosis with a physician; Write prescriptions.
  • Providing treatments that include bone setting, stitches, vaccinations, and immunizations.
  • Explaining procedures and aftercare requirements to patients and their families.
  • Ordering and interpreting tests as appropriate.
  • Counseling on preventive care; Assist in surgery
  • Performing complete, detailed, and accurate histories, review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports, and order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the complaint, age, race, sex, and physical condition of the patient.
  • Do complete physical examinations and record pertinent data in acceptable medical forms.
  • Making medical diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, other resources of the community, or other physicians.
  • Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and emergency obstetric delivery.
  • Arranging hospital admissions and discharges at the direction of the Supervising Physician; perform hospital rounds and record appropriate patient progress notes; accurately and appropriately transcribe and execute specific orders at the direction of the Supervising Physician; compile detailed narrative and case summaries; complete forms pertinent to patient’s medical records; issue diagnostic orders, which must be signed within a specified time period as defined by hospital guidelines.
  • Interpreting and evaluating patient data to determine patient management and treatment.
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physical, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and the use of prescribed treatments and medications through education and counseling
  • Stay current with new knowledge from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and incorporate it into clinical practice.
  • Regular attendance to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

· 3+ years of PA experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Room or Primary Care setting.is preferred, but not a must

· Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required. (PANCE)

· Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants required.

· Current DEA license

· Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
