This is a full-time outpatient Physician Assistant role providing primary care to a diverse, underserved community. What You’ll Do:
- Provide primary care to adult and family patients
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
- Manage chronic disease (diabetes, HTN, asthma, etc.)
- Perform physical exams, H&Ps, and follow-ups
- Prescribe medications per scope of practice
- Order and review labs and diagnostics
- Document visits in the EMR
- Work closely with physicians, NPs, nurses, and care teams
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited PA program
- Active PA license in the state
- NCCPA certification
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- BLS/ACLS (BLS minimum)
- Eligible for credentialing with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care plans
Preferred / Strongly Desired: These aren’t always required, but they matter a lot in FQHC hiring:
- Primary care experience (family medicine, internal medicine, community health)
- Experience with underserved or safety-net populations
- Comfort with high patient volume
- Experience with chronic disease management
- Spanish or other second language (huge plus)
- Experience in team-based or integrated care models
- Familiarity with value-based care and quality metrics
