Manager of Advanced Practice Providers – Physician Assistant

Join one of Brooklyn’s top and largest health systems as a Manager of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and take your career to the next level! We are seeking a dynamic Physician Assistant (PA) leader to oversee a team of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) while ensuring exceptional patient care, clinical excellence, and operational efficiency.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will supervise staffing, optimize patient safety, enhance clinical quality, and drive departmental operations. In addition to providing direct patient care, you will mentor staff, develop clinical programs, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and administrators.

Key ResponsibilitiesStaffing & Operations

  • Oversee APP scheduling, staffing, and recruitment across multiple departments
  • Manage time-off requests, schedule changes, and coverage gaps
  • Handle payroll processing and act as a liaison between APPs and department leadership
  • Maintain clinical responsibilities as an APP to stay connected with patient care

Education & Onboarding

  • Lead orientation, mentoring, and professional development for new APPs
  • Ensure completion of required training, certifications, and competencies
  • Maintain and update departmental policies, procedures, and educational requirements

Quality & Performance Improvement

  • Implement performance initiatives that enhance efficiency and patient care
  • Monitor clinical quality and evaluate high-risk encounters
  • Collaborate on regulatory inspections, risk management, and compliance efforts
  • Oversee incident reporting and adherence to quality standards

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with the AVP and Director of Advanced Practitioners on program development
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to the APP team
  • Handle staff concerns, complaints, and documentation compliance
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to drive clinical excellence

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Sciences, or a related field
  • Board Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) through NCCPA
  • Active New York State PA license
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a practicing PA (leadership/supervisory experience preferred)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and administrative skills
  • Experience in quality improvement, operations, and interdisciplinary collaboration is a plus
