Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Neurology to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive neurological patient care, assist in clinical research, and support acute and chronic care management within a hospital or outpatient setting. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced EMR systems, participate in innovative treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy, and collaborate with specialists across various disciplines to improve patient outcomes.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and vital signs, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and aseptic techniques.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, EEGs, and other neurological testing tools; interpret results within the context of clinical findings.
  • Administer injections such as botulinum toxin treatments and medications; manage airway and ventilator support for critically ill patients.
  • Document patient encounters accurately using EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; code procedures with CPT and ICD coding standards.
  • Assist in procedures including lumbar punctures (spinal taps), catheterizations, and other invasive diagnostics.
  • Manage acute pain and provide urgent care for neurological emergencies; triage patients effectively in emergency room or urgent care settings.
  • Support inpatient and outpatient care plans, including discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, and hospice & palliative medicine services.
  • Participate in clinical research trials related to neurology; collect data for research studies while maintaining compliance with institutional standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex cases involving ICU, PICU, neonatal ventilator management, or Level I/II trauma center protocols.
  • Engage in health coaching, patient education on medication administration, nutrition, and disease management strategies.

Experience

  • Proven experience working within hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or critical care environments such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical records management is essential.
  • Experience administering injections and performing physical examinations across diverse patient populations including pediatrics (Pediatrics), geriatrics (Geriatrics), and neonatal care (Neonatal ventilator).
  • Background in managing infectious diseases, pain management protocols, occupational health cases, or addiction counseling is preferred.
  • Prior involvement in clinical trials or research projects related to neurology or other specialties is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and medical coding standards such as ICD-10/ICD-9 is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in outpatient or inpatient settings with a focus on patient care excellence while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA. Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
