Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians to provide high-quality patient care in various medical settings. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures and the ability to perform a range of clinical tasks effectively. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing conditions, and implementing treatment plans while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams focused on endocrine-related conditions.
- Evaluate and manage patients with diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, gestational), thyroid dysfunction, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and other metabolic diseases.
- Adjust and initiate medications including insulin and hormone therapies under collaborative protocols.
- Interpret laboratory values, radiologic studies, and other diagnostic tests relevant to endocrine pathology.
- Provide in-depth patient education on disease processes, medication regimens, lifestyle modification, and self-management techniques (e.g., glucose monitoring, CGM, insulin pumps).
- Collaborate with endocrinologists and other team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Document all clinical findings, treatment plans, and follow-ups in the EMR in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to abnormal labs, follow-up concerns, and medication refills.
- Participate in patient care coordination, quality initiatives, and population health efforts.
Qualifications
Education:
- PA: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Master’s degree.
- NP: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing, certified in Family, Adult, or Adult-Gerontology Primary or Acute Care.
Licensure/Certification:
- Active state license as a PA or NP.
- Board certification (NCCPA for PAs; AANP/ANCC for NPs).
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority.
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in endocrinology or internal medicine strongly preferred.
- Experience with diabetes technology (CGMs, insulin pumps) is highly desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
