Full Job Description
Orchestrate daily operations and care of patients admitted to the Rapid Access Unit, perform history and physical exams, write orders and obtain consent for interventional and diagnostic procedures, discharge patients post procedure or make the determination that the patient needs to be admitted, write follow up daily progress note on designated PCI until patients are discharged, evaluate other patients in the hospital for cardiac cath procedures and post procedure complaints, remove arterial and venous sheaths, remove TR bands, conduct pre-procedures phone calls to designated patients and obtain history, confirm medication and timely bloodwork has been drawn, participate in recruitment of patients for research protocols, discharge selected patients post diagnostic or interventional procedure, assist interventionalist in post interventional clinic with follow up exams and confirmation of DAP therapy, participate in the care of patients 18 years of age and older. Additional requirements as needed. May move between both campuses as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certified by the National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Physician Assistant license by New York State
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- Ability to travel between campuses: Moses, Einstein and Hutch
- EKG interpretation
- Lab Data interpretation
- NCDR/NYS DOH definitions
- Knowledge of medication dosages to meet age and weight criteria of patient 19 years of age and older
- Knowledge of physiological and psychological differences in age-related groups 18 years of age and older (i.e. geriatrics, 40 year old)
