Title: Cardiology Physician Assistant, Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Location: New York

Travel Required within Service Area: Up to 50% (Westchester County and surrounding sites)

Job Type: FULL TIME

Schedule: As necessary 5×8 hours Days

Hours: Negotiable Flexible

Description:

VDO Cardiology is looking for NY licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) for our growing Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology practice. Work with a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team while providing a mix of inpatient and outpatient care. In this role, you may be asked to take on a varied schedule. It might include operating room, rounding, outpatient procedures, clinic, patient care and call responsibilities. Experience is preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from Accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program (with First Assist a plus)
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure required
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioners (NCCNP) certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and Advanced Certified Life Support (ACLS)
  • Current DEA Licensure
  • Current Infection Control Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical ability to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of scientific or technical principles, theories, concepts and in-depth experienced based knowledge.
  • Ability to assist in procedural care
  • General computer knowledge, EMR workflow, etc.

Cardiology/Electrophysiology

  • Practice as a cohesive team to ensure the care and caring of our patients and their families.
  • Step into the Cardiology Department at affiliate hospitals, and manage continuity of care for the highest acuity cases in our region.
  • Assess, plan and provide patient care to our patients and their families. In an environment of rare procedures and rewarding outcomes, our team strives to be vital contributors.
  • Under general supervision and pursuant to New York’s professional practice acts, provide pre and post-surgery care on all procedural patients.
  • Assists any affiliated supervising practitioner in performing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Consults (Inpatient and Outpatient)
  • Pre-operative evaluation
  • 1st and 2nd assisting on all Cardiovascular and Electrophysiologic procedures
  • Post-operative management
  • Routine outpatient cardiovascular care
  • Follow-up patient care
  • Call as applicable

Experience:

  • Prior experience preferred but not required
