Full Job Description
Responsibilities: – Provide comprehensive patient care under the supervision of a physician – Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories – Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory tests – Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections – Prescribe medications and administer treatments – Assist in surgical procedures and perform minor surgical interventions – Provide patient education on disease prevention, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices – Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans – Maintain accurate and detailed medical records Qualifications: – Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program – Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant – Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) – Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and systems – Experience in acute care settings, such as hospitals or emergency departments – Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members – Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments – Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical coding (ICD-10) Skills: – Neonatal ventilator management for pediatric patients – Dermabrasion techniques for cosmetic procedures – Proficient in various healthcare systems for documentation and patient management – Competent in providing comprehensive patient care across different age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics – Skilled in medication administration, including dosage calculations and intravenous therapy – Knowledge of medical coding principles for accurate billing and reimbursement – Experience in acute care settings, such as hospitals or emergency departments – Familiarity with nursing home regulations and protocols Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change based on the needs of the healthcare facility.
