Visionary ASC NJ is an advanced minimally invasive GYN surgical center in Secaucus, NJ that requires the services of an experienced Physical Assistant. CMS specializes in advanced minimally invasive procedures for benign and malignant gynecologic conditions. Our center has redefined the meaning of minimally invasive GYN surgery, providing some of the most advanced procedures for women. Our surgeons developed innovative and revolutionary techniques to simplify even the most complicated surgical procedures. We care for each patient as a true individual, and through a detailed and personalized approach, our staff have our patients back on their feet as swiftly as possible.
The PA is responsible for peri-operative duties under the direction of our surgeons and in collaboration with the surgical team.
NOTE: The surgery center is open 1 day a week on TUESDAY. We are looking for a reliable PA as a First assist with GYN cases each TUESDAY.
Responsibilities:
- Positions the patient in accordance with the surgeon’s instruction.
- Uses standard and specialized equipment to aid in patient positioning.
- Provides the surgeon with appropriate visualization of the operative site using retractors and other techniques according to standards.
- Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with closure of body planes, i.e., sutures and staples.
- Uses laparoscopic equipment to assist during the surgical procedure.
- Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
- Assists with patient transport to and from OR, including from stretcher to bed.
- Participates in monitoring quality of care according to professional standards and established criteria.
- Performs other related duties as indicated.
- Assists with maintaining established organizational policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.
- Works collaboratively with team to assist in room turnover.
- Perform History and Physical in the peri-operative setting.
- Evaluate and assess the patient during the recovery period.
- Collaborate with the physician prior to discharge and write prescriptions as needed for pain management.
Requirements:
- One (1) Year of continuous, documented experience as a Physician Assistant in a role of First Assist.
- Certification credentialed by one of the following is required:
- Valid New Jersey State License as a PA.
- Valid NCCPA Certification.
- Valid CDS and DEA Certification.
- BLS/ACLS certification required.
- GYN experience required.
- Laparoscopic experience required.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $80.00 per hour
